PON Analyzer NIVA
Highlights all communication exchanges between an OLT and ONUs using the PON technology
Description
First and only multi-usage PON processing platform
The MT2 PONPlatform is a groundbreaking, multi-usage optical processing unit that serves as a PON Analyzer, OLT Emulator, and ONU Emulator—all in one compact, portable device. Designed for deep analysis and troubleshooting of modern PON networks, it supports G-PON, XG-PON, XGS-PON, and NG-PON2 standards through flexible firmware licenses. With real-time, non-intrusive analysis, vendor-neutral architecture, and a user-friendly graphical interface, it is the official test tool for BBF.247 ONU certification.
Detailed Description
The MT2 PONPlatform is a multi-usage optical processing unit that can be configured to work as either an analyzer, an OLT emulator, or an ONU emulator for G-PON, XG-PON, XGS-PON, or NG-PON2 protocols. Its success stems from its user-friendliness and its unique ability to process data continuously and in real time—a critical feature for very high bandwidth signal analysis. The platform is controlled via a network connection (LAN or WAN) from a regular PC running the GUI software (MT2Browser), optimized for both Windows and Linux environments. Configuration is achieved through independent software licenses (unlimited or annual). Key capabilities include multi-layer analysis for multiple PON standards, soft switching between multiple firmwares, the ability to mirror up to 2 x 10 Gbps Ethernet traffic data, and a highly integrated, portable design with a robust aluminum casing.
Applications
The MT2 PONPlatform is the ideal tool for:
- PON Network Deployment & Fastening: Used by service providers worldwide to accelerate PON deployment and ensure smooth rollout.
- Equipment Development & Compliance: Essential for equipment manufacturers to speed up development and ensure compliance with ITU and BBF standards.
- Troubleshooting & Interoperability Testing: Highlights mis-communication events or non-compliant behavior immediately, helping to resolve interoperability issues.
- PON Tree Monitoring & Diagnostics: Continuously monitors a PON tree in real time, displaying all events and allowing verification of expected behavior.
- Independent Testing & Certification: As a vendor-neutral tool, it is used by independent test laboratories (like LANPARK) for official BBF.247 ONU certification.
- R&D and Lab Validation: Provides deep analysis of protocols, error injection, and automation capabilities for rigorous testing in R&D environments.
Advantages
- Multi-Function Platform: Combines PON Analyzer, OLT Emulator, and ONU Emulator in a single device, covering G-PON, XG-PON, XGS-PON, and NG-PON2 via software licenses.
- Real-Time, Non-Intrusive Analysis: Captures and decodes data in real time without time limitation, using a passive optical head that does not interfere with live network traffic.
- Vendor-Neutral & Independent: Uses no PON chipset or OMCI stack from any manufacturer, ensuring complete neutrality and unbiased analysis.
- Comprehensive Protocol Support: Deep analysis of PLOAM, OMCI, GEM, and DBA with full compliance to ITU-T standards (G.984, G.987, G.9807, G.989) and BBF specifications.
- Powerful Filtering & Automation: Advanced filtering, search, and trigger logic with full automation through scripting (JavaScript) and remote CLI.
- Extensive Export Capabilities: Export data in XML, HTML, PCAP, PCAPNG, CSV formats; integrates with Wireshark for Ethernet-level analysis.
- Portable & Rugged Design: Highly integrated and portable (18 x 18 x 3 cm, <1 kg) with a robust, sturdy aluminum casing and EC marking.
- Official Test Tool: Recognized as the official test tool for BBF.247 G-PON, XG-PON, and XGS-PON testing ONUs certification.
